Kokur Chu Wanaan
The poem has been written by Ayoub Sabir. Sabir was born in Tehsil Bugam of Kulgam. Presently he resides at Srinagar. He used to be a teacher in education department. Ayoub is a humourous poet. He has written various poems for children. Among those is Kokur Chu Wanan which is humorous , meanwhile a lesson for us. It’s about a roosters emotions that he wants to highlight.
Kokur Chu Wanaan is about the rooster and the hidden feelings he wants to convey to the world. The rooster says that he wakes up early in the morning and makes the population wake up too from the slumber (sleep) they don’t want to get out from.
He goes on to say that he never argues with anyone not even during the times when he is put under knife. The roosters says that he has put his faith on Allah. I am being sacrificed on every occasion and the people make many delicious dishes from me.
The rooster, while thanking Allah, further tells that I am the one who goes as a dish with bride to her in laws during marriage. The rooster tells the people that they don’t know how much beneficial he is for the humans. I am given to ailed persons who after having my soup get healed. I am also taken to shrines to be distributed among the needy and poor.
The rooster wants to convey to the world that he has always been a profitable creature unlike other animals. He must be cared by those who pet him. He in a way also praises his patience and persistence. So everytime you pet a rooster keep this poem in mind and take care of your pet well.
